Nokia announces Lumia 920, Windows Phone 8, 4.5-inch display, PureView, wireless charging

Today at Nokia's Windows Phone 8 event, the company has announced their new flagship handset, the Lumia 920. The brand new Lumia features a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual core processor, a 4.5-inch "Pure Motion HD+" display, which Nokia says is the "best smartphone display innovation", a 2,000mAh battery, NFC, and the new Windows Phone 8 operating system from Microsoft. The rear camera on the Lumia 920 uses Nokia's "PureView" technology, but features a 8.7 megapixel sensor rather than the huge 41 megapixels on the PureView 808 smartphone. It can also record up to 1080p video.

The new Lumia will come in a range of colours including, black, red, grey, white, and yellow, and features a one-piece polycarbonate body. The device will also feature wireless charging via a wireless charging pad.

Nokia has not yet announced availability and pricing of the device.
