Android 4.2 app verification no replacement for anti-malware apps

Android 4.2 comes with Google's App Verification Service which checks application installs for malware. However NC State University Associate Professior Xuxian Jiang has found that among 1,260 samples, the App Verification Service only caught 193 instances with doesn't come close to the perfect scores two apps tested received. While Android malware really isn't that big of a deal right now, Google may want to tighten up the verification process if it wants to keep its platform as safe as it can. Hit the source link for more information of the evaluation.
