Back in October Twitter acquired Vine, a video sharing startup that hadn't even launched, and now a tweet from Twitter CEO Dick Costolo (via Dom Hofmann) suggests that Twitter will likely soon officially integrate the service into Twitter. Vine described itself as a video sharing service that specialises in very short clips, something that I think will fit well with the fast moving point of Twitter.
How or when the service will be integrated is unknown, however one would assume that it would be baked into Twitter's own mobile apps rather than releasing it as a separate application.
Update: We are hearing Vine will remain a separate app as planned before the acquisition and remain that way.
Check out the embedded tweet below featuring the Vine clip.
