Review: I Give It A Year (2013)

I Give It A Year directed by Dan Mazer is about a couple who met at a party, ambitious Nat (Rose Byrne) and struggling novelist Josh (Rafe Spall) get married and appear to be happy but they certainly have their differences, and nobody believes they can make it to a year. With alternatives on the cards, we see if they can prove everyone wrong.

The concept of I Give It A Year didn't sound like my cup of tea however it really did surprise me. The laughs are plenty and if you don't mind crude humour you'll laugh as much as I did. A few jokes do fall flat however due to how they were delivered, but the rest made up for those. Stephen Merchant (The Office, Extras) and Olivia Colman (Peep Show, The Iron Lady) delivered some of the best even with only minor roles.

I Give It A Year is by no means anything groundbreaking but it's a highly enjoyable British flick which beats the crap out recent US movies based on similar concepts. It's totally worth seeing.
