iFixit got its hands on the Oculus Rift development and of course they had to do a teardown.
iFixit found that users will get 640 x 800 pixels per eye and have a horizontal field of view greater than 90 degrees and a diagonal field of view greater than 110 degrees. On the inside it includes a gyroscope, accelerometer, and magnetometer for tracking a users head.
iFixit scored the Oculus Rift Development Kit a 9 out of 10 for repairability. They say that the device takes less than 10 minutes to take apart thanks to standard clips on the perimeter, Phillips #1 coarse thread screws and the two foam adhesive pads that hold the LCD in place which can be re-glued easily.
