Online gaming is becoming more popular by the day, on consoles, personal computers, mobile devices, and even on online like Paddy Power's thriving online bingo community, but what are the most anticipated upcoming games that feature online play?
Grand Theft Auto Online
Grand Theft Auto Online will launch on October 1st and will be available in the highly anticipated GTA V for Xbox 360 and PS3. GTA: Online will be up to 16 players and will “continue to expand and evolve after launch with new content” from Rockstar Games and also the GTA community. Players can explore alone or with friends, complete missions, do activities, or even play traditional game modes with other players. Gamers will be able to customise their characters appearance, own custom vehicles, purchase property and much more.
Battlefield 4 is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC and will feature 3 playable factions; China, Russia, and U.S. and support up to 64 players. The game will also feature the return of "Commander Mode" which was last seen in Battlefield 2142, which gives certain players an RTS view of the map and the ability to give orders to team mates. Battlefield 4's online mode will also feature new weapons, vehicles, and amazing in-game events such as collapsing sky scrapers. Like previous Battlefield games players will have a choice of being Assault, Engineer, Support, or Recon.
The Elder Scrolls Online
Elder Scrolls Online is a massively-multiplayer online game. It will allow players to travel across the entire continent of Tamriel 1000 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls V, which includes the provinces of Skyrim and Cyrodiil. Daedric Prince Molag Bal will be the games main antagonist as he attempts to pull all of Tamriel to Coldharbour. Most of the continent of Tamriel will be playable in Elder Scrolls Online, however much will be locked for DLC. Players will also be able to join any of three factions. The game is coming to PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in Q1 2014.
Call of Duty: Ghosts
Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer features many new features that aren't in previous games. Players will have the ability to customise their characters, maps will be dynamic, and movements such as sliding and leaning around corners have been improved. Mark Rubin says in Ghosts you'll be able to look at the edge of a wall and aim down the sights to lean rather than pressing a button. The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360 on November 5th. It will come to PlayStation 4 on November 15th in North America and Europe on November 29, on Xbox One an exact date is still unknown but it's expected to be sometime in November.
