Remember Xbox Illumiroom? Microsoft says it costs too much to release
Xbox Illumiroom
Remember that awesome Illumiroom video Microsoft showed off? Many thought it would be a feature of the next-generation Xbox, and many have speculated it would be a mid-cycle release for the Xbox One just like the Kinect was for Xbox 360, however AusGamers reports some sad news.
AusGamers had the chance to sit in on an Xbox One platform demo that also had a Q&A session afterwards. The site pleaded with Penello to have the IllumiRoom grenlit for consumers, and he explained that the cost was just too high for consumers.

I wouldn’t expect you’ll see that, it’s very, very cool tech but it’s, like, for a consumer, it requires projectors and things. It’s really super-neat if you’re in the lab and you've got Microsoft money and you could totally set up this awesome lab, but... we looked at it, but for an average customer it’s, like, thousands of dollars.

Pretty sad news but the high price is some what expected. Maybe we'll see something like this when the tech is more affordable, but for now don't expect it to be coming in Xbox One's lifetime.
