Apple refreshes MacBook Pro: thinner, faster, cheaper

At its special event today Apple has announced a refresh of its MacBook Pro line that ship with Apple OS X 10.9 Mavericks which is also a free upgrade for others. The new 13-inch model is lighter and thinner, at 0.71 inches thick and 3.46 pounds. The base model halves the RAM but it's also cheaper at $1299. The new model has a reported 9 hours of battery life and has Wi-Fi that performs up to three times faster with 802.11ac support.

The new 15-inch model has the new Crystalwell integrated graphics chips and many other enhancements to performance. It will also drop to $1999 and include a 2.0GHz Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD.
