The addictive and difficult Flappy Bird game for iOS and Android has everyone playing, and while free it's packed full of advertisements that are making developer Dong Nguyena a whopping $50,000 per day.
In an interview with The Verge he said,
The reason Flappy Bird is so popular is that it happens to be something different from mobile games today, and is a really good game to compete against each other. People in the same classroom can play and compete easily because [Flappy Bird] is simple to learn, but you need skill to get a high score.
What makes this story even more shocking is the game only took a few nights coding when Nguyena got home from work. Nguyena says he "will think about a sequel" but isn't sure about the timeline.
