After months of rumours, the cast for Star Wars: Episode VII has been revealed. Most excitingly it includes Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford back as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo. Along with those is Peter Mayhew returning as Chewbacca, and Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker as C-3PO and R2-R2. As we've heard earlier in the year Adam Driver (Girls) will play the enemy, but some new faces that are now official are John Boyega (Attack the Block), Daisy Ridley (Toast of London), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings), Domhnall Gleeson (About Time), and Max Von Sydow (The Exorcist).
In a statement, director J.J. Abrams said, "We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."
