Today at its special event in Cupertino Apple has announced the iPad Air 2. It's not only the thinnest iPad Apple has made, it's also the thinnest tablet ever made at just 6.1mm thick, the previous iPad Air was 7.5mm. The sixth generation iPad now has the Touch ID fingerprint sensor just like the iPhone. The display is 9.7-inches just like previous models but it's quality has been improved with an anti-reflective coating on the glass which reduces reflections by 56 percent. The LCD, glass and touch sensor have also been optically bonded so they no longer allow any air gaps.

In terms of specs the Air 2 uses Apple's new A8X processor and the M8 coprocessor which tracks things such as steps and movement. It has a 64-bit chip that Apple says is 40 percent faster. The Air 2 also have 180x the graphical performance of the original iPad.

Apple says that the tablet will have a battery life of 10 hours. It will come in silver, space grey and gold and has storage capacity of 16gb, 64gb or 128gb.
