Sky Atlantic's tense new show 'The Last Panthers' is looking very intense, but did you know it's based on a real life events? A network of individual cells with Europe wide connections plans heists to the very last details. They're well organised smash and grab thefts that only last a few minutes. The network is thought to be behind notorious diamond heists worth more than €334m (£250m) over the past 20 years.
The gang came after the Balkan conflict ravaged the former Yugoslav Republic between 1991 and 2001, and they first gained mass attention after they stole a £500,000 diamond from a jewellers in London, England. The diamond was later recovered in a jar of face cream, just like the 1960's movie Pink Panther movie.
