So car manufacturer Lexus has made a real, rideable hoverboard which you can see in the video below. At first you may think this is yet another fake piece of tech to give them publicity, but if you read about the technology involved it sounds legitimate.  The Lexus Hoverboard uses magnetic levitation to achieve its hovering. Liquid nitrogen cooled superconductors and permanent magnets in the board and the floor combine to allow the device to move freely.

How well this actually works is unknown but I really want to see it in action.
