Instagram adds support for full landscape and portrait photos

Since launch Instagram differentiated itself from other photos apps by only allowing native square photos on the service, but all that's about to change. On the Instagram blog today the company announced that in addition to square photos and videos you'll now be able to share photos and videos in both portrait and landscape.

While you may have spotted landscape and portrait photos on Instagram before, this was merely a trick done by third-party apps which simply added white borders to images. Instagram's native integration will actually allow the full landscape and portrait photos to be posted without making them tiny.

Instagram 7.5 is available today on both Apple's App Store and Google Play, however it may not show the new feature immediately.
