Today Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO Andrew House told Financial Times a new edition of the Playstation 4 is officially coming, and it's codename (like rumours have suggested) is PS4 Neo.
The revamped console will of course be more expensive than the current model, and they're made to "sit alongside and complement" each other. Sony won't be phasing out the current PS4. "All games will support the standard PS4 and we anticipate all or a very large majority of games will also support the high-end PS4" House said.
House did not say what would be different about the console but rumours have suggested that it could offer 4K visuals and/or support for Sony's upcoming Playstation virtual reality headset.
Sadly we won't be seeing a debut at E3, although a new Xbox One is expected to make an appearance, as well as the next Nintendo console expected to be called 'Nintendo NX'.
