Sony has only sold 2.2 million PS Vitas since launch, will change focus to young audience

Sony has confirmed that they have sold 2.2 million PlayStation Vitas wordwide since launch. In an interview with PlayFront at Gamescom, Sony Germany boss Uve Bassendownski blamed slow sales on the company ignoring the younger customers. He added that Sony plans to adjust the advertising for the PS Vitato appeal to that younger audience, as well as create a stronger presence in the media.

I don’t honestly believe it has anything to do with the market Sony is aiming for. Modern smartphones have fantastic games with stunning graphics while also doing everything else a user wants. Nobody really wants to carry a separate gaming device anymore.
