Acer has been rapidly improving its tablets recently and the Acer Iconia A1-830 is no exception. The new tablet has a cool and sleek look and is much thinner than its predecessor which makes it much more comfortable and solid feeling in the hand. Made from premium white materials including a metal back cover, the Iconia A1-830 features fast performance thanks to its Intel Aton 1.6 GHz Dual-Core processor, PowerVR SGX544 GPU, and 1 GB of RAM running on Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
The A1-830 has a 7.9-inch LCD LED-backlit IPS display (768 x 1024 resolution) which provides gorgeous colours, a wide viewing angle of 178° and is big enough to play games and watch movies and small enough to easily take out and about on travels. It has an internal storage of 16GB and a microSD slot which can hold cards up to 32GB just in case you need more space for those apps and movies. On the back is an autofocus 5 megapixel camera capable of 1080p video recording and on the front is a 2 megapixel camera. The Iconia A1-830 battery is 4000mAh which sound last about 7 and a half hours. The device also features the usual things you would expect in the latest tech including geo-tagging, an accelerometer, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v3.0.
Overall the Acer Iconia A1-830 is a great tablet for casual gaming, watching movies and TV and reading eBooks at an affordable price. If you’re on a budget looking for a small Android tablet Acer is definitely one you should keep your eye on. Check out the video below for a closer look.
