The BlackBerry Passport is an odd device, it features a squashed keyboard, has a square display and is actually the size of a passport. Most I’ve spoken to don’t seem to like the idea of the device, but whether or not this turns struggling BlackBerry around, the company seems to be ready to continue releasing unconventional devices. According to Ron Louks, president of the company’s Devices division, BlackBerry is ready to start pushing out more out of the unordinary devices in the coming years. In an interview with Reuters, Louks said BlackBerry can afford to take risks after sorting out its financial situation, and release “at least one unconventional device” every year. He added “When it comes to design and being a little bit disruptive, we want that ‘wow’ factor.”
Louks also said that BlackBerry is already working on a new unusual device, he doesn’t reveal any details but said that carriers have had positive things to say.
