Panasonic shows off the first native 4K Blu-ray player

By Stephen Robinson @xstex · On 5 January, 2015

Today Panasonic has shown off the first native 4K Blu-ray player at CES. Current Blu-ray players can output 1080p HD content or up-scaled 4K, so this is of course a big step up. This makes Panasonic the first company to produce a 4K Blu-ray player. Right now it’s just a prototype and little is known about it, however it’s likely to hit shelves this year.

With streaming content now very much the norm for many will be an option that many people turn to? I guess we’ll have to wait to find out.
