Barclays’ Pingit will allow you to send money to friends via Twitter

Barclays’ Pingit app is super useful, it allows you to send and receive payments using just a mobile phone number, no exchange of bank account details needed, but now things get even cooler. From 10th March it will let you link to your Twitter account and send payments to other users using just Twitter handles. This new update will be coming to both iOS and Android and will even work with people who don’t bank with Barclays.

All you’ll need to do is add your Twitter handle to your Pingit profile under the apps settings menu. Both you and the recipient must do this to send payments.
